- Rini-an attractive teen-age girl stays with her parents in a middle income group locality in the suburban area of metropolis. A lunatic (Fuko) in the locality have started behaving as Rini’s Fiancé and chases her wherever she goes by calling her as his “ Wife”, he shouts, he screams and comes under a frightful spell whenever he sees Rini. The issue grew out of proportion and irritated Rini’s family to the extreme. Amitesh-Rini’s father & Putul seeing no respite sought help of one of their close family friend Hemango Chakraboty (A Sr. Police officer).
- The localities, the unemployed youth of the local club were actually instigating the mentally imbalanced Fuko to continue with this fiasco. Due to her reserved nature, family values and social distance Rini was beyond their reach. Hence, this instigation was an act of revenge.
- It was revealed later on that the politician Badal Roy actually planned out this fiasco so that he can cut a deal with Hemango, who will not hinder Badal Roy in any of his activities. Amitesh and Putul in their agony, tried to plan out how to end the life of this pain. Rini was taken aback by the hidden rage within her parents and tried to point out the same. But Putul and Amitesh in their endeavor to solve the stigma continued to expose the anger and violence within them in the ordeal.
- There was huge public roar heard by the family; they heard from the excited mob that a speeding bus ran over Fuko in the main road. This incident brought out an involuntary sigh of relief from Putul and Amitesh but Rini’s mind got an indelible imprint of the whole incident and the hidden violence of her parents cast a gloom over her innocent mind.
- The play “Bagh Nokh” (Hidden Claws of Tiger) depicts a contemporary issue, which warrants a serious mind mining of the society. The ever-increasing irrational instigation without thinking the effect on the humanity or the society is an intricate problem of the modern society. The failure in life of few gets vented in various ugly forms and cast an evil spell over the society as a whole. The play reflects upon one of such issues. The highlight is the insensitive positions taken by the immediate social environment in fear of some personal loss of comfort and hence none voices any anti opinion against the powerful. The play is unique as it also reflects the violence in the mind of the people who are facing a problem. It depicts the instinct of today’s society to overcome a grave situation by violent and easy means rather than trying to solve the issue so that the root cause is uprooted.
