After the demise of their father, Basanti and her younger sister Gouri are forced to carry corpses from Patharpratima police station to the morgue on the outskirts of the city to make ends meet. On one such night these two women an injured Latu Parbat who is absconding from the police. Latu, a graduate degree holder without a job became one of the most wanted criminals after he was imprisoned for his master’s fault. A spokesperson of the proletariat Latu plans to burn off the factory owned by the bourgeois Seths, the same people who had exploited Basanti’s family crippling her mother Bhanumati. So Latu finds a safe haven in their family. However, though both Basanti and Latu belonged to the poorest sections of society, they had high hopes. They dreamt of building a life together where they could teach other people like them and uplift their social positions. Do their dreams come true? Does society allow these two marginal figures to transform their dream to reality?
