বিনোদিনীর শেষ জীবনের একেবারে অজানা কথা

• কথা নয় যেন বিস্ফোরণ। আজ পর্যন্ত কেউ জানে না। সবাই ভাবে বার্ধক্য আর অবসাদ বড় জোর গায়ে চর্মরোগের কথা।

• কিন্তু বিনোদিনীর শেষ জীবন যে তার অভিনেত্রী – জীবনের মতোই গর্ব করার মতো, সেই কাহিনীর পর্দা খুলবে এই নাটক।

• তাছাড়া আরও অনেক নির্মম সত্য গিরিশ কে নিয়ে, যা এর আগে কোথাও পাওয়া যায় নি, সে সব নিয়ে এই নাটক গর্জে উঠছে।

• Natyarongo’s Shei Aek Binodini is anything but what the title suggests. Not only does it break away from the multiformat milking of the most tempting plot points of heartbreaks, betrayal, patriarchy and social redemption down the ages in performance arena, it offers a rare insight into the lesser explored facets of Binodini’s life.
• The text is one of the most fascinating I have encountered in films and theatre in the recent past. Anecdotal, scathing, cross referential, time travelling and combining forgotten history and forgettable politics with aplomb – it usurps one’s senses for the runtime and aided by superb performances, helps you forget the not-too-impressive stage and light designs.
• Talking of performances, Anindita Bandopadhyay delivers a solid, dependable turn especially in the second half. But the head turners are Surajith Baanerjee ‘s almost unrecognizable cameo rendered with pitch perfect precision and Debopriya Bandopadhyay ‘s frenzied act switching roles like a MPD afflicted chameleon on cocaine.
