- Madhu Basak used to be yet another ordinary, working-class fellow. However, years of struggle and a quick wit have today helped him to reach the pinnacle of power. In the process, money, fame, and desire for more power have led him astray from whatever it takes to be humane. This journey of his makes us ponder. So does the sense of power that is the other name of the state. An invisible stronghold of power seems to control every fundamental decision. In pursuit of our vested interests, perhaps, we too have fallen under its sway. In the play “Spare Parts”, the divided self garners its humane spirit and rises in protest.
- একজন সাধারণ খেটে খাওয়া মানুষ মধু বসাক। সংগ্রাম আর বুদ্ধিকে কাজে লাগিয়ে ক্ষমতার শীর্ষে এখন সে। অর্থ, সম্মান আর ক্ষমতা দখলের এই পথে হাঁটতে গিয়ে মনুষ্যত্ব থেকে দূরে চলে যেতে থাকে মধু আর আমাদের ভাবায়। ভাবায় রাষ্ট্রের দুর্দমনীয় ক্ষমতা। এক অদৃশ্য ক্ষমতা কিভাবে নিয়ন্ত্রণ করছে সমগ্র ভৌমিক সিদ্ধান্ত। যার বাইরে হয়তো আমরা কেউই নই, শুধু নিজেদের টুকরো টুকরো স্বার্থ-স্বাধীনতায় মশগুল আমরা। এই খণ্ড আমি’র পূর্ণ মনুষ্যত্বের প্রতিবাদ নিয়ে নাটক “স্পেয়ার পার্টস”……..
