In Tiktiki, that sly, shape-shifting creature of a play (descended, with a conspiratorial smile, from Sleuth), a house becomes a stage for a duel of minds.
An older man—polished, privileged, and dangerously clever—invites a younger rival into his carefully curated world. The pretext is civility; the reality, a game. What follows is less a meeting than a performance of shifting masks, where each man scripts and rewrites the other’s fate in real time. Plans are proposed, accepted, and quietly poisoned. Identities flicker. Truth dissolves into illusion.
Like the watchful tiktiki on the wall, both men observe, wait, and strike—each move precise, each pause loaded. Victim and predator exchange places until the distinction itself collapses.
In the end, there is no triumph, only the unsettling realization that the game—of ego, of control, of storytelling—outlives its players, forever waiting to be played again.
