Aditya crosses paths with Swapnadrasta, a teacher who has relocated from Kolkata to teach at a suburban school. The narrative gradually unfolds around them. Alongside them, students like Neha, Purab, and Pritam are severely depressed by the crushing pressures of the education system and their future prospects, an angst that adds a profound emotional weight to the play.
Crisis and Conflict: Following his mother’s death, society puts immense pressure on Aditya to secure a steady income. The story takes its most harrowing turn when Swapnadrasta, while waiting for the last train at the station, is raped by a corrupt police inspector.
Protest and Resistance: In the aftermath of this horrific incident, marginalized members of society—a beggar, the local tea-seller (Cha-boudi), Champa, and the students—unite to stand by Swapnadrasta and resolve to fight a legal battle. Swapnadrasta comes to a deep realization: the state machinery and the system are mentally and socially ‘raping’ the dreams and desires of ordinary people every single day.
